Join our two-year Pediatric Emergency Medicine Administrative Fellowship program at Tucson Medical Center. This structured two-year program offers an additional stipend for 30 administrative hours per month of training and 90 clinical hours with a comprehensive benefits package on your first shift. The fellowship is an immersive program that provides hands-on training with hospital and emergency department leaders, as well as formal classroom learning. Learn more about this unique opportunity to provide you with the skills to lead a team in the Emergency Department while still practicing medicine.

Tucson Medical Center, licensed at more than 600 beds, has been Tucson’s locally governed nonprofit regional hospital since admitting its first patient Nov. 9, 1944. TMC is Southern Arizona’s leading provider for emergency care and pediatric care (including Tucson’s first Pediatric Emergency Department), with intensive care units for adults, children and newborns. Other specialty areas include women's, maternity, cardiac care, orthopedic, neuroscience, hospice, surgical and vascular care.

Emergency Department:

  • Volume: 31,000
  • Pedi ED Beds: 14
  • Admission Rate: 5% 
  • Patients/Hour: 1.5-2 per clinician
  • Physician Coverage: 27 hrs daily
  • APP Coverage: 12 hrs daily

TMC for Children Hospital:

  • 24/7 dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department
  • 42-bed Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU)
  • 33-bed Pediatric Unit with around the clock in-house pediatric hospitalists
  • Child Life Specialist on staff
  • Wide range of Pediatric specialists on staff

Required Qualifications

  • BC/BE ABEM or ABOEM with PEM fellowship or dual EM/PEM residency; BC/BE ABP or ABOP with PEM fellowship
  • Arizona medical license or ability to obtain
  • DEA
