The Department of Emergency Medicine at John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking to add an Administrative Fellow to the team to start July 2026. The EM Residency program at JPS was established in 2011 as a fully accredited three-year program with 15 residents per class. JPS was the first recognized as the only Level 1 Trauma Center for Tarrant County and is a comprehensive level 1 stroke center.

Seeing over 130,000 patient visits annually, the county hospital population provides incredible learning opportunities in volume and pathology. In addition, the department supports ultrasound, administration, street medicine, and education fellowships. Awarded by Gallup as a Gallup Exceptional Workplace in 2024.

Fellowship Structure:

  • Sixty (60) clinical hours per month in the JPS ED
  • Sixty (60) administrative hours per month dedicated to administrative fellow responsibilities
  • Salary-based compensation

Emergency Department

  • Volume: 130,000
  • Admission Rate: 23%
  • Patients/HR: 2-3
  • 72-bed ED
  • EPIC EMR
  • Scribe Services Available
  • Level 1 Trauma Center
  • 582-bed Teaching Hospital

Coverage

  • Physician Coverage:
    • 75-106 hrs daily
    • 8-12 hr shifts w/ overlap
  • APP Coverage:
    • Fast Track rotations
    • 20-30 hrs daily
    • 10-12 hr shifts w/ overlap

Required Qualifications

  • Candidate must be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/ABOEM) and completion of an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine.
  • Must have a demonstrated interest and aptitude for leadership and residency education in Emergency Medicine.
